What does it mean when a guy pokes/"spooks" you a lot?

I go to school with this guy, and since the beginning of the year, he's been "spooking" me. Usually he comes up from behind and quickly put his hands on my shoulder and exclaims my name, and I have a really dramatic reaction/nearly fall over. He's just joking, and we have a bunch of mutual friends, so what does it mean? Does he like me? Some times when he does and I start to fall over, and he catches me he'll be like "You really need to relax! I had to hold you up there!" stuff like that
