"Changed the course of history" is a nonsensical statement. Do you agree?

My observation is that history's course is never "changed." It goes as it goes and is THE history, plain and simple. History is history. It kind of reminds me of the statement some people make when they find a long, lost item and exclaim that it was found in "the last place I'd look." Well, it WAS the last place you looked because why would you keep looking after you found it?
